Airport: PYFA will provide transportation to and from the Harrisburg International Airport within designated hours. Airport is 32 miles from the hotel.
Wednesday, Dec 11 – Registration opens at noon. Board Meeting at 1:00 Delegate Meeting at 3:00 Taste of Pennsylvania Reception, Entertainment and Ice Cream Social in evening.
Thursday, Dec 12 - Following breakfast at the Marriott the tour buses will head to Chester County. Tour options will include “The Tastiest Tour in Town” at Herr’s Snack Factory and a tour of the Herr Angus Farm, visit the Mushroom Capital of the World and tour a mushroom farm and processing plant, and tour the one million sq ft URBN Distribution Center. One tour option will remain in Lancaster County to go to New Holland Haytools Plant, a wolf sanctuary, Mount Hope Winery, and Hershey Farms. You won’t go hungry as you will be treated to a lunch half way through your tour stops and then a dinner at one of the area’s amazing smorgasbords.
Friday, Dec 13 - This morning you will hear from the officer candidates at breakfast and then head out to our Lancaster County tour options. Lancaster County is home to the New Holland Haytools plant, Kreider Farms which features a high tech viewing of the dairy, Oregon Dairy Organics/Compost Facility, Lancaster Labs/Eurofin and Liberation Tiny Homes. There will also be many options for shopping with scheduled stops in Lititz, one of the nations “coolest small towns”, Kitchen Kettle Village, Green Dragon Farmers Market, and/or Outback Toy Store. We will finish the evening with another scrumptious dinner and entertainment.
Saturday, Dec 14 — a) 8:00am – Ag Decision Makers College—Hear from local farmers and ag officials b) 10:30am Ag Communication Award should provide excellent insight to the new communication challenges facing agriculture c) 11:45 am – Salute to Pennsylvania and Officer Lunch d) 2:00pm – Final of Ag Communication Award e)4:00pm – Auction f) 6:30pm – Banquet and Entertainment!.
